Yes, this is happening tonight at 6 PM at the Valleybound – Antonito School & Community Garden. S’MOREOS! Come join us for some harvesting, storytelling, weeding and fun around the fire!
Thanks to everyone who came out to the garden last night! We harvested spinach, radishes, tomatoes, chives, horseradish and chard! Two children from local communities were are Head Harvesters, and they even presented all of the produce to the other 30 community members who were present! I honestly don’t know if I could have given a presentation in front of so many people at that age. You can’t tell me that a School & Community Garden isn’t cross-curricular! 😀 And the s’mores with reeses were a major hit – they’ll be back next Tuesday at 6!
Thanks to everyone who came out to help tonight at our weekly garden session. We had some issues with the water, but everyone came together and we got everything watered through a combination of wells and buckets. It really is amazing to see what can happen when everyone works together.
We even got our fire pit dug tonight, so we’ll be sure to have a fire next week with s’mores for all who come out! I can’t wait!
The aspens have a new haircut now and are looking fabulous, and the baby trees in the driveway are nice and protected and supported as well. Great work, team!
Tune in to KRZA – 88.7 FM tomorrow (April 17th) at 8 AM for our interview about the amazingly beautiful things we’re up to down here in Antonito! You can also listen online here: KRZA.
I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately and stumbled across this really neat permaculture mandala. I’m unsure who drew this lovely piece of art, so if anyone knows, please let me know so I can properly credit it. 😉The more and more I learn about permaculture, the more I think it’s definitely the way to go and something I’d like to see my dream entwined with. Here’s to being a bit subversive and creating a whole bunch positive change through sustainable living! Who wants to join me?
